Never Hire A Photographer Without Asking These 7 Important Questions (Number 4 is Crucial!)
You're about to save a lot of time, heartache & disappointment by asking your potential photographer these critical questions.

Whether it's wedding photography, engagement photos, senior pictures, family photos or event coverage, you'll want to know the answers to these questions that very few people think to ask.
These are not your typical questions - the fourth one is a game-changer! 🔑
❌ Forget about packages
❌ Forget about hourly rates
Everyone knows to ask how many pictures you’ll get, how long is the session, what’s the price, how long have you been a photographer, when do I get my pictures back, etc…
But…
👉 THE KEY IS knowing that the photographer(s) you’re hiring can achieve your expectations. I'm Sarah Highway from Exposures by Rah, and I've been doing this for a long time. Over 13 years, I've notice people seem to forget to ask these important questions...
👀 The 7 questions (below our meet + greet scheduler) will help you dig deeper & lead you to the right match👇
1️⃣ Would you create a package that’s tailored to my/our needs, or do your have set packages? Make sure you find someone who cares about what YOU need, not what they want to sell you. Don’t know what you need? They should be willing to help you figure that out objectively.
2️⃣ Do we own the high resolution files? There’s no right or wrong answer to this question, but it’s important to know all the costs. Every photographer’s fees are different!
3️⃣ How many cameras do you shoot with and do they have dual card slots? For those who don’t speak camera, this means 2 sd cards can be in the camera simultaneously copying photos. This ensures that if one sd card becomes corrupted there’s a backup card. It’s rare but not unheard of for a card to go corrupt!
4️⃣ How are our files protected and backed up? This question is a great follow up to the last one. It separates the professionals from the amateurs. Listen very closely to their answer and ask branch questions to gain clarity if necessary. Your files should be backed up in multiple places, both physically and on some sort of cloud service.
5️⃣ What happens if there’s bad weather on the day of our session or wedding?? If your session or wedding is outside, you should know what their backup plan is before signing a contract. Do they schedule a rain date at the time of booking to ensure availability? If your session/event is happening outside rain or shine, you should know if your photographer’s gear can handle adverse weather.
6️⃣ This one is a given, but its importance bears repeating: Can I see some recent full galleries? This isn’t something scammers can easily provide, so weed those jerks out with this question!
💍 For those hiring a wedding photographer, here’s a bonus question just for you:
7️⃣ In case of an emergency 🆘 that keeps you from making it to our wedding, what’s your backup plan to ensure we have a photography team at our wedding?
